CELEBRATING EARTH DAY APRIL 22nd
Save the date Tuesday, April 22, for a very special event at the First Parish Church in Saco. Things get underway at 7:30 p.m. with world-renowned explorer and scientist Paul A. Mayewski, Ph.D., Director and Professor of the Climate Change Institute and Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Maine. Selected exploration highlights by Dr. Mayewski include:

  • Leader of more than 45 expeditions to remote regions such as Antarctica, the Artic, Himalayas, Tibetan Plateau and Tierra del Fuego.
  • Leader of first expedition into Northern Victoria Land, Antarctica and first glaciological expedition to Nun Kun Massif, Ladakh, Indian Himalayas.
  • Leader of the first multi-disciplinary over snow scientific expedition to the South Pole.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss this special event! Admission is free but tickets are required.

Tickets can be obtained by calling the church office at 283-3771. The church is located at the corner of Main and Beach Streets. Plan to arrive early; seating will be on a first-come first-seated basis.
